Real-world case studies demonstrated the tangible benefits of BIM implementation across various construction projects, showcasing better project coordination, improved decision-making processes, and enhanced overall outcomes.The welcome speech was delivered by the General Secretary of NHA Nirmala Lama. The sessions included speakers, Mr. Pravin Karki, Global Hydro Power Lead at World Bank, BIM Manager Sven Oettinghaus, of Tractebel, BIM expert Sunil Suwal, and Mr. Mahesh Karki founder and co-founder of NBIMF, Surendra P.S. Chaudhary, Construction Deputy Chief at Upper Arun Hydro-Electric Limited (UAHEL), Mr. Birendra Raj Pandey, Vice president of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI Nepal), Mr. Suman Sharma, GIS Expert and Mr. Sudhir Thapa, Secretary at NBIMF. The members were keen on exploring various BIM tools in safeguarding heritage sites, facilitating documentation, and enhancing maintenance practices, all of which are of paramount significance in a city as culturally rich as Kathmandu. It involves creating a 3D model of a building or site and adding information about its historical significance, materials used, and structural details. HBIM can be useful in many ways, from facilitating restoration and renovation processes to preserving the site's cultural and historical significance for future generations.&nbsp;The case of Kwahiti, a stone spout in Kathmandu, Nepal, serves as an excellent example of the practical benefits of the proposed framework. This site is not only valuable for its cultural heritage but also for its functionality, as it serves as a public water source for the surrounding community. Therefore, accurate spatial documentation of the site is crucial to ensure its preservation and continued use.&nbsp;The use of HBIM in the documentation of Kwahiti has several advantages. Firstly, it allows for the creation of a digital twin of the site that can be used for restoration and renovation purposes, without the need for physical access to the site. This is particularly important for heritage sites that are at risk of damage from natural disasters or human activity. Additionally, HBIM can be used to simulate various scenarios and assess the impact of potential changes to the site.&nbsp;Moreover, HBIM can be used to enhance the visitor experience by creating immersive virtual tours of the site. This can be especially useful for small-scale heritage sites that may not have the resources to offer physical tours to visitors. Virtual tours can provide visitors with a detailed understanding of the site's historical and cultural significance and increase their appreciation for the site.&nbsp;In conclusion, the case of Kwahiti demonstrates the practical benefits of using HBIM for the accurate spatial documentation of small-scale heritage sites. However, the research was only limited to the ‘Hiti’. As in, the source of water and its route hasn’t been documented. This is the challenging part of the heritage documentation and further research is required for achieving an accurate HBIM model of this heritage site. However, these practices have resulted in numerous challenges, including cost overruns, schedule delays, inefficiencies, design flaws, and a limited collaborative working environment. Transforming Nepal’s AEC Industry with BIM

The event's primary goal is to raise funds to support various charitable projects in Nepal. Last year, the funds collected from the event were used to aid flood victims in Terai and support the Dhurmus Suntali Foundation. This year, the event focused on supporting the Guardianship Program initiated by the Government of Nepal.<h3>Supporting Education in Nepal</h3>In coordination with the Government of Nepal and the Ministry of Education, we are delighted to contribute to the Guardianship Program. This initiative aims to assist children who are unable to attend school and receive proper education due to financial constraints. Nepal BIM Forum and Trimble Host Nepal's First-Ever BIM Conference

The Nepal BIM Forum (NBIMF) held its 1st Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, 2nd November 2019, in Helsinki, Finland. Chairperson Sunil Suwal opened the meeting with a warm welcome to attendees from both the Nepal BIM Forum International and the Nepal BIM Forum Nepal Team. Vice-Chairperson and Secretary Mahesh Karki, along with Chief Financial Officer Manish Yakami, presented the annual report and financial details of the organization. Executive Board member Bhupendra Basnet introduced changes to the association’s rules and regulations.Reflecting on the past year, NBIMF faced both challenges and successes as it embarked on its journey. Successfully registered as a non-profit organization in Finland, NBIMF has been dedicated to educating Nepalese AEC stakeholders about Building Information Modelling (BIM). Throughout the year, NBIMF conducted 60 weekly meetings, generating inspiring ideas and hosting 20 events, including presentations, training sessions, and the ‘BIM in Nepal Conference 2019’.
